About Your Library

Welcome to the library family! With your library card, you’ve unlocked a world of possibilities. We have three library branches across Benton, Bryant, and East End that you can visit. Learn more about our locations and hours on our website. Our mission is to create unique, enriching experiences that put YOU at the center of our story.

About Your Card & Checking Out Materials

Your library card is active for 3 years; at the end of that time period it needs to be renewed. You can renew in person at the library, or online. Likewise, you can check out books at one of our library branches, or place holds and renew your materials online!

You can check out five items at a time. If no one else is in line to borrow your item, it will be automatically renewed once. And more good news – the library does not charge late fees for materials turned in past their due date. However, lost or damaged materials will be charged to the cardholder. Please take care of the things you borrow!

You might have noticed we haven’t said “books” here. That’s because you can check out a ton of different things:

  • Audiobooks
  • Board Games
  • Books
  • Book Club Kits
  • Cake Pans
  • DVDs / Blue Rays
  • Entertainment Equipment
  • Fishing Poles
  • Hot Spots
  • Learning Kits
  • Library of Things
  • Makerspace Kits
  • Pre-loaded Tablets
  • TV Shows
  • Video Games

Check out our New Cardholder Guide for detailed information on the different loan times for each of these items.

Our Computers & Online Resources

Whether you are working on a research project, studying for an upcoming test, or looking for a job, we’ve got you covered! All of our library branches have been equipped with computers for your use.

  • Youth computers: bookings available for 60 minutes
  • Adult computers: bookings available for 90 minutes
    • Please get in touch with your local librarian if you need more time!

In addition, our libraries are ready for your print job. Printing and copying costs $0.10 per page for black and white copies and $0.25 per page for color. Scanning and emailing any documents you have is free!

On our website, the library offers 140+ different databases on a variety of subjects to help you learn and study. Check out some of our resources today!

With your library card, you also gain access to a number of apps on your phone. These apps include Libby (for audiobooks, e-books, and magazines) freegal music, Kanopy (movies and television streaming) and hoopla (audiobooks and ebooks). Take a look at all of our downloadables to explore and find the best fit for you!

Our Programs & Library Calendar

The library offers a ton of free to the public programs: for entertainment, education, and more! We have a robust online calendar to keep track of all the amazing things going on, but you can also stop by any of our library branches for printed copies of our calendar.

Some of the programs we offer include:

  • Lapsits, learning motor skills and pattern recognition, and socializing for young toddlers before they can walk
  • Storytimes for young children learning to read
  • Crafts and book clubs for tweens
  • Gaming and fan clubs for teens
  • Educational programs, crafting programs, and more for adults
  • Events for the whole family!

Our Friends at the Gann Museum

The Saline County Library proudly took ownership of the Gann Museum in 2022. Since then, we have been bringing local Arkansas history to our community with articles, new exhibits, and more. Stop by the Gann Museum to learn more about the Gann family, Benton’s history as a company town, and explore some of the preserved artifacts on display.

You can also sign up for our new digital newsletter to get the latest updates delivered right to your computer or phone!
