Try Your Culinary Skills with Fruit Salsa!
Beat your summer boredom by spending some time honing your culinary skills. Not only will your stomachs be happy but you are sure to impress your friends and family. There are tons of simple and delicious recipes for teens that you can find online or you can head over to the Saline County Library and pick up one of our many recipe books. To get you started on your culinary adventure follow the recipe below for an amazing summer treat that is sure to be a hit!
Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Chip:
Ingredients:
- 1 Pint Strawberries, diced
- 2 Kiwis, peeled and diced
- 2 Granny Smith Apples (Or your apple of choice), cored and diced
- 8 ounces raspberries (or berry of choice)
- 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon White Sugar
- 3 Tablespoons Fruit Preserves (I use Strawberry Preserve)
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combined strawberries, kiwi, apples, and berries. Add in brown sugar, white sugar, and fruit preserves. Mix thoroughly.
2. Cover and chill for 15 minutes.
3. Serve the same day with cinnamon chips (Such as Stacy’s Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips or with graham crackers).
