The Saline County Library will be hosting its’ second annual virtual Bookin’ It 5K. Registration is now open and the last day to run is April 10, 2021.  

Last year, the Saline County Library hosted the first Bookin’ It 5K to raise funds so they could eliminate fines during the summer. This year, they hope to eliminate fines all year long. Money from fines helps to pay for new materials, online resource subscriptions, programming materials, and more so the Bookin’ It 5K will help supplement those costs.  

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year will be virtual. Participants can complete their 5K while maintaining social distancing by running at their own pace, on their own time, and at their own location. Running, walking, biking, and even completing household chores can count towards the 3.1 miles.  

Participants can sign up for the following categories: Ages 18 and up ($15), ages 6-17 ($10), and ages 5 and under (FREE). Participants must register before March 31st to guarantee a t-shirt. All participants will receive a swag bag that must be picked up via Curbside Pickup at the library. 

You can also support the Saline County Library’s fine free efforts by purchasing Bookin’ It Extras including a water bottle ($7), a tote bag ($5), a fanny pack ($10), or a keychain ($3 for personalized, $4.50 for sanitizer key chain).
