Prom Dresses Available at Library
From April through May 25th, The Saline County Library has prom dresses available for high school students to check-out. Students can request an appointment to browse prom dresses here: http://bit.ly/SCLBrowsing21.
Prom dresses have been generously donated by local organization, Project Prom, and library patrons. There are limited sizes available while supplies last and students can only check-out one dress each.
“We want every student to be able to have the prom of their dreams,” said teen librarian Jennifer Watson. “If we can help just by giving them the opportunity to get a prom dress for free, we feel like we’ve done our job.”
Appointments start on the hour, every hour 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday and 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturdays. Each browsing appointment is 45 minutes long. This includes checking in to the appointment, browsing, and checking out. Patrons ages 12 and up can make an appointment. Once a reservation has been made, a library representative will contact the patron to confirm the appointment either via email or phone. Reservations made after the library closes will be answered the next business day.
For patron and staff safety, rules will be implemented and expected to be followed by everyone who has an appointment. The rules are subject to change as the Library Director and board see necessary. If a change is made, this will be reflected on the appointment reservation form and told to patrons as they arrive for their appointments. The safety rules for appointments can be found on the library’s website.
Browsing appointment entry for Benton is located near the outdoor seating area to the right side of the building, through the double doors. Entry for browsing appointments in Bryant will be through the side-access door located by the meeting room and teen area. Appointments can be made by visiting the Saline County website or calling (501) 778-4766 for Benton and (501) 847-2166 for Bryant.
