National Library Week 2023
The Saline County Library encourages the public to participate in National Library Week! National Library Week 2023 will be the week of April 23. The citizens of Saline County can participate in library dress-up days and special events the entire week at either the Benton or Bryant Branch.
- Monday, April 24th – Music Monday – Dress up like your favorite musician. We will provide a small coffee area for visitors. Pick up a “book note” to share a special library memory!
- Tuesday, April 25th – Travel Tuesday- Dress up like you are taking a trip to your favorite destination! Patrons can travel through the library on a scavenger hunt. Finish all the tasks and turn in your completed form to the library front desk to earn a book buck so your travels and adventures never stop!
- Wednesday, April 26th – See if you can trick your friends and dress up like someone else for the day! The library has gone wacky, and they need help to unscramble it! Help them solve puzzles and riddles at both locations.
- Thursday, April 27th – Throwback Thursday- Take it back to whatever decade you choose! 80s, 70s, Renaissance? Stop by to see if you can answer all questions correctly for Trivia Through the Decades! You can also play a different round on the Saline County Library Facebook with us at 7:30 PM. The winner of Facebook trivia will receive a special prize.
- Friday, April 28th – Fictional Friday- Dress up like your favorite fictional character. Share a picture of you dressed up on the library social media channels or visit the library to take a photo in our National Library Week photo booth area.
- Saturday, April 29th – Shoutout Saturday- The library staff is excited and thankful for all our wonderful patrons. Come to the library for a special treat. Share your favorite library memories in person or on social media. The library will also present all the book notes they received throughout the week.
The theme for National Library Week 2023 is “There is More to the Story.” The theme for this year illustrates that in addition to the books in library collections, libraries offer so much more. National Library Week is a time to celebrate library workers’ contributions while also promoting use and support.
