May the 4th Be with…Ducks?
You’re probably wondering… what good is a rubber duck for besides entertaining children at bath-time?
How about providing $5,000 to the Imagination Library, $5,000 to the Bryant Boys & Girls Club, and $5,000 to the Rotary Kids Closet?! Yep, all because of a bunch of ducks.
This Saturday, May 4th, Bryant Rotary is putting on the 2019 Rubber Duck Derby Festival at Mills Park. Last year the event was a huge success with hundreds of guests of all ages, lots of games and prizes, food, entertainment, a 5k race and 5,000 rubber ducks racing down a river! This year, the festival is going to be even bigger with the Star Wars Pageant, contests for the whole family, more games and even more prizes. Then, 5,000 ducks will race down a river and make 11 people lucky winners of some amazing prizes!
The ducks are labeled with numbers from 1 to 5000, counted, then mixed up and put in a holding tank and stirred some more. At exactly 2:00 PM Saturday, the ducks will be released down a river that was built by the Bryant Rotary Team. Team members will be at the end of the river to catch the first ten ducks. Those ducks will get prizes all valued at $500 or more.

All of these are going to be fun, and you get to hang out with some of your favorite librarians!
