Dear Thistlebryt Students…
Summer is here again and that means it’s time for the Summer Reading program.
Teens ages 13-18 are invited to the Benton branch every Tuesday starting June 4th at 4:00 pm for another fun year of activities. This year, we will be returning to Thistlebryt, our local wizarding school in Saline County. Fans of Harry Potter will love the crafts and games we have planned. Of course, there is no teaching of “witchcraft” at the library, never fear.
A Letter from our Headmistress:
Dear Students,
Welcome back to our third summer at Thistlebryt School of Witchcraft and Wizardry located in scenic Saline County! New students will be sorted into one of our four school houses. Will you be a storyteller in house Sparkle Flash, an explorer in house Diamond Dove, an inventor in house Fraggle Zag or an artist in house Sirena? Students will compete all summer long to win the House Cup. This year students of house Fragglezag, Sparkleflash, Diamond Dove and Sirena will be focusing on the night sky, while striving to win the House Cup. Every activity is a chance to earn points for your house!
This year’s games and crafts have a fun space-themed twist. Answer Harry Potter trivia while playing Quidditch to see if your house will win the Quidditch Cup. Learn about astrology while we make zodiac crafts and play a tea leaf reading game. Solve secret codes and try to sneak messages past the teachers. Oh, and things will get glittery while we make galaxy jars! Every Tuesday is a new chance to earn points for your house.
Do remember that there will be no rough housing or name calling in the classroom. Save all that for the dueling club. Looking forward to seeing you all once again.
Signed,
Professor Watson.
