Thanks to our amazing community in Saline County, we were able to raise enough food and hygiene products to start up a new community pantry in East End!

Back in November of 2024, the library put together the Battle of the Businesses initiative. Local businesses in Saline County duked it out in an epic fight to “KNOCK OUT food insecurity” and be crowned the champion, winning the Gold Heart Belt.

Y’ALL! Everyone was so amazing! Through this food drive we were able to collect almost 3,000 food and hygiene items. That’s like almost 3 times what donations were last year!

We are so proud to have this community pantry added. Anyone in Saline County can access this completely free whether or not you have a Saline County library card.

➡️ DID YOU KNOW? All Saline County Library branches also have a “Warm Wishes” area where anyone can pick up a hat, scarf, gloves, or jacket to help keep warm this winter. The library is accepting donations to both the Community Pantries and Warm Wishes! (For large food and/or hygiene product donations, please bring items to the circulation desk at the libraries main location in Benton.)
