November Giving!
This November we’re focusing on honoring and aiding those in need! Take a look at some of the charitable events the library is putting together for the amazing community within Saline County. 🍂
Mister Rogers Sweater Drive
For the entire month of November, The Saline County Library will be accepting winter clothing at all branches. Each library branch will have a donation box set up, and we’ll be accepting:
- sweaters
- vests
- cardigans
- and winter coats.
Please feel free to clean out your closet and donate some gently used clothes – just make sure they’re tidy and clean! All items collected will be donated to the Bright Futures nonprofit.
Warm Wishes
From November 4th through the rest of winter, the library will have free hats, scarves, gloves, socks, jackets, and other winter gear available to those in need – no questions asked! Keeping you warm this winter warms our hearts. 💝 Look for the Warm Wishes Window in Benton and East End branches and the holiday tree set up in Bryant to pick up what you need.
OR, Do you have some cold weather gear that you don’t use anymore? You can donate at all branches! Please make sure your items are well loved but well cared for and neat for their new home.
Pet Adoption and Donation Drive
The Saline County library is partnering with Benton Animal Services for a Pet Adoption and Donation Drive! Come see us at the Benton branch from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on November 2nd. Everyone from pet lovers to those looking to add a new pet to their home are welcome. 🐶
➡️ Leading up to the event, we’re accepting donations of pet food, pet toys, and blankets! Stop by the Benton branch and visit the Ask Here desk to drop off your pet-related items for donation. 🐱
Don’t have any dog or cat toys, but you have some old rags? That works great for puppy chews! Drop by the Benton Makerspace during open hours to craft with us. You can turn old rags into dog pull toys and bring joy from your scraps!
Veteran’s Day Appreciation
Calling veterans of all ages and history enthusiasts: join us for an entertaining and engaging time in Bryant! We’ll be honoring American veterans and providing them with health, education, and job resources through American Legions, Veteran Service Office, and the VA Medical Center.
Stop by on November 8th, from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM at the Bryant branch; we’ll have tons of useful info for veterans, the 106th Army Band will play music, and the Gann Museum will have a special collection of historical artifacts related to veterans in Arkansas from different time periods!
Battle of Businesses Food Drive
From November 12th – 30th, the library is organizing a food drive. Are you a local business looking to support Saline County in the most punk rock way possible? Show your strength and pull together the most food and hygiene products! Throw down in our radical Battle of the Businesses and take home the ultimate prize suite: receiving bragging rights for the year, the Battle of the Businesses Golden Heart Belt, and shoutouts at the library through social media, email newsletter, and signage. 💛
➡️ Up for the challenge? Ready to show how big a heart you have? Businesses interested in participating should contact Kari Lapp at KariL@SalineCountyLibrary.org.
