We are so excited to welcome Alan to the Saline County Library as our new Community Librarian! Alan worked for the Arkansas Democrat – Gazette for 18 years before pursuing his MLIS and working at the Henderson State University Library. He has a strong desire for community outreach and we are lucky to have him on our team!

If you could choose one superpower, what would it be?

Disapparation. I would be in New Zealand RIGHT NOW.

What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?

I really, really like homework. I might keep going to school just because I know how much I will miss it.

What’s the strangest talent you have?

I can cup my hands, clap them in front of my mouth, and make myself into a musical instrument with alarming tonal accuracy.

Are you a cat person or a dog person (or other)?

I live with five ginger cats who allow me to reside here so long as I keep them fed, watered, and mildly entertained. Not surprisingly, they do not like dogs.
